Mapping the World Around You —
With Scientific Precision
With Scientific Precision
Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing are among the most powerful tools in modern environmental, urban, and social research. They allow researchers to visualise complex spatial patterns, track land use changes over time, assess environmental impacts, and support evidence-based decision making.
At DSD Research Firm, our GIS specialists combine deep technical expertise with an understanding of research requirements. Whether you need a single land use map for your thesis or a complete spatial analysis package for a government or NGO project, we deliver publication-ready outputs that meet the highest scientific standards — on time, every time.
We have experience working on coastal zones, river basins, agricultural land, urban areas, and protected forest regions across Bangladesh and beyond, including the Sangu River basin, Bay of Bengal coastal areas, and international study sites in Southeast Asia.

How It Works
From Study Area to
Publication-Ready Map
Publication-Ready Map
A clear, collaborative workflow from your first enquiry to your final map delivery.
1
Share Your Study Area & Objectives
Tell us your study area (coordinates, district, or shapefile), the years you want analysed, and what you want to find out. We'll confirm data availability and the best approach.
2
Satellite Data Acquisition
We source the best available satellite imagery for your area and time period — Landsat, Sentinel-2, MODIS, or other datasets from NASA, ESA, or USGS archives. No cost to you.
3
Image Processing & Classification
We pre-process the imagery (atmospheric correction, cloud masking), run classification algorithms, extract spectral indices, and produce the spatial layers your research requires.
4
Cartographic Map Production
Using ArcGIS or QGIS, we design publication-quality maps with proper legend, north arrow, scale bar, projection information, and your institutional branding if required.
5
Delivery & Methods Write-up
You receive all output files plus a complete written methodology section explaining the data sources, processing steps, and classification approach — ready for your thesis or paper.

Frequently Asked Questions
Your GIS Questions
Answered
Answered
Do I need to provide the satellite images myself?▼
No — we source all satellite imagery from free public archives including NASA's Landsat, ESA's Sentinel-2, and USGS data portals. You just tell us your study area and time period and we handle the rest.
What information do I need to provide?▼
We need your study area (a district name, coordinates, or a shapefile if you have one), the year(s) you want analysed, and a description of your research objectives. The more context you give, the better the output.
What resolution will the maps be?▼
This depends on the satellite source. Sentinel-2 provides 10m resolution, Landsat 8/9 provides 30m. For very detailed local mapping, we can work with higher-resolution commercial imagery or drone data if available. We recommend the best available source for your study area.
Can you map areas outside Bangladesh?▼
Yes — we can map any location in the world using publicly available satellite archives. We have completed projects in Bangladesh, Indonesia, India, and other countries. Just share your study area coordinates and we will confirm data availability.
Will the maps meet journal publication standards?▼
Yes. All maps are produced at 300 DPI or higher with proper cartographic elements — legend, scale bar, north arrow, projection, and data source attribution. We can format maps to specific journal dimensions and requirements on request.
Can you do change detection between two time periods?▼
Absolutely — multi-temporal change detection is one of our most requested analyses. We compare land use, vegetation cover, water extent, or any other spatial variable across two or more time points and quantify the changes with statistical accuracy assessment.
